El Dorado County Habitat for Humanity
is a nonprofit, faith based housing organization. Habitat for
Humanity works in partnership with people in need to build and
renovate decent, affordable housing. Through a family selection
committee families are selected to help build and ultimately
purchase a Habitat For Humanity Home. These homes are sold to those
in family's with no interest charged. Each family much work a
minimum of 500 " sweaty equity" hours on their home or within the
EDC Habitat organization. EDCHFH ReStore is located in Historic El
Dorado next to the Fire Station. New and used building materials are
donated and then sold to the public. This is a three fold community
support effort 1) individuals & companies donate and received a tax
deduction form 2) items are kept out of our landfills 3) people can
purchase new and used building material at a great price... It's
truly a win-win community effort.
